"Contractions" and "labor" - redundant tags?

I really can't think of how one differentiates between the two. One of these tags could be safely removed. Anyone else think so?

:geek: Not redundant.

8-) False labor is not labor. Could just be a scarey bunch of spasms that end, and labor does not come. She could experience contractions over a period of weeks, even months. The uterus is practicing.

 Labor is a whole process that involves contractions, but dilation will occur, and birth is immanent.
